Foi hoje anunciado pela Nokia o lançamento do 6720, no seguimento do clássico 6220 com quase um ano. O formato deste novo modelo é o tradicional com um écran muito agradável e com uma ligeira curvatura anatómica para melhor se adaptar ao formato da mão. Em termos de ligações, o celular vem com quad-band GSM, tri-band 3G e HSDPA para ligações rápidas à internet. Infelizmente este modelo não vem com Wi-fi. A tónica comum em praticamente todos os modelos da Nokia tem sido o GPS e, neste modelo, não foi excepção.

O 6720 Classic é um modelo média gama com uma câmera fotográfica de 5 megapixel com lentes Carl Zeiss e dois flash leds, mapas Nokia versão 3.0 com capacidade para geo-refrenciar fotografias e rapidamente partilha-las com os amigos, quer a partir de serviços da internet já embebidos no celular (flickr.com), quer através do próprio portal da Nokia.

Outro aspecto impressionante deste modelo é a sua autonomia e tecnologias de processamento de voz. É possível fazer conversações de mais de 8 horas (ou então mais de 9 horas de playback de video ou 27 horas contínuas de música) com um tempo de stand-by superior a 20 dias. Adicionalmente, o dispositivo vem com novos algoritmos e activos de cancelamento de ruído, que eliminam sons exteriores e permitem que a voz seja transmitida com maior clareza.

De resto, o Portal deste fabricante foi a tónica comum em quase todos os modelos, uma aposta forte por parte da Nokia que deixa aqui uma mensagem aos players de Internet. O posicionamento dos operadores pode assim vir a ficar ainda mais difícil à medida que novos modelos de negócio e de comunidade vem muito bem pensados e integrados de raiz nos dispositivos. Se pensarmos que um dos maiores problemas é a instalação de novos aplicativos por parte dos utilizadores comuns, a nokia coloca-se também no caminho dos serviços globalizados.
