Guernica Pablo Picasso Painting Marcelo Ortiz

On April 26, 1937, during the Spanish Civil War, the town of Guernica was attacked, and practically destroyed, by the Condor Legion of the Luftwaffe, inspiring one of Pablo Picasso's most famous paintings. Because of the horror of the nearly 1 600 deaths caused by the bombing, this painting, that already had been started by Picasso, recieved the name of the small Basque town. Thus, Guernica was born.

Based on this painting, Marcelo Ricardo Ortiz created a beautiful and interesting 3D animation. The goal is to go through the paintings of some of the most influential artists, through a "character" from Guernica. Van Gogh, Salvador Dali and Escher are there, in a dinamic and harmony that is unusal. Special attention to the final sequence, almost hypnotic, when we go from one of Escher's drawings to Guernica.
