Some things will perish

It's possible to see creatures rising from these drawings: birds, crawlers, insects and even microscopic beings. It all starts there. Afterwards, the lines evolve and transform themselves, disappear in blots and regenerate as if they were celular tissue or fractals. New shapes are created in a continuous flux that captures what is transitory, fragile and fleeting, the essential expression of life, nonetheless. Pure fantasy and visual pleasure, as we had not seen for a long time.

A huge poetical force flows from these fantastic drawings and its topographies, which evoke flying structures and microscopical organisms - wings, skulls, beaks, claws or arteries. The drawings' titles share the same poetry and don't hide their biomorphic affinity.

Noelle Allen's technique is very simple, similar to a fun-play. Pencil lines are drawn over a polyester film and, afterwards, added watercolours. As you can imagine, the result depends on the graphic potential of this technique, as well as the artist's skill. Only then, what could end up as an immense formal orgy, is kept safely within the strictest and most controlled elegance.
