Moonstream

If the exploration of Mars goes ahead in the next few years, then Moonstream might become a reality. The strange vehicle was built to travel the irregular, bumpy surfaces of the red planet, carrying cargo or passengers with every luxury and comodity. At this point, however, it is still a design exercise by young designer Anthony Sims, based on the earthly and famous SUV (Sport Utility Vehicles), that seem well adapted to space explorations...

The Moonstream consists of a capsule supported by six pairs of wheels, similar to the ones in the robots NASA has been sending, as of late, to Mars. The difference lies in its size and in the fact that it can be manually driven by a pilot, standing in the cabin at the front part of the vehicle. The rest of the capsule has a big enough area for sleeping and working. Every comodity and functionality allowed by today's technology has been incorporated and combined into a retro look, which seems to have been drawn from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
