Looking at clouds and finding in them shapes seems to be very usual. We can all see in them what our imagination wants, although there are clouds that strongly resemble certain shapes and it takes little effort to see them. There are also clouds that are so unusual that they intrigue us. Some people see them as signs of UFOs or as messages from the beyond and wish to unfold their mystery. But for The Cloud Appreciation Society, a society for clouds aficionados, as the name suggests, they are just poetic manifestations of Nature that we can all observe.
It's easy to be a member of this society. You only have to regularly share some photographs of clouds and pay an annual quota, a symbolic amount for administrative expenses. You also have to hate a clear, blue sky, monotonous and expressionless; the clouds translate the atmosphere's state of mind, its personality. At the same time they are ephemeral and perennially renewable, always giving us new and beautiful shapes. Some of these images we would like to share with you here. Almost all of them come from the society's website.
