Mikal Jessie Hameed, also known as M11X, is an American artist with his roots in music and the performing arts. As an artist he does a little of everything - he is an actor, director, video clip producer, sculptor, etc. However, since he established himself in New York, ten years ago, his main work is in production design. His latest work has shown his artistic intervention project: to connect art with music in a shared experience.
According to the artist, the way we listen to music nowadays is too selfish. His goal is to break this paranoid relationship we have with our earphones and force us to share our favorite songs and sounds, thanks to the good old audio systems. This mission's icon is the boombox, a portable stereo system that can play cassettes and radio at high volume, hugely popular during the 1980s.

These iconic images are transformed and blend with other elements: canvases, furniture, electronic equipment, recycled materials, etc. The final result is surprising to say the least and the sound quality is without fault.
