Surrounded by uncountable pieces, the German designer Frank Buch develops totally uncommon luminaries. He constructs meticulously something that doesn't seem to belong to our nowadays technological reality. Frank has the basis of his creation inside of an extremely unique cultural concept designated as Steam Punk.
Each luminary is hand-produced and is constituted by 12 different models, which can take more than four weeks to be constructed. Named by Frank as Machine Lights, they have about 200 individual pieces, making each sample an exclusive model.
These singular luminaries are made by hand-polished steel and bronze, creating a black surface finish with brownish details. The lamp used is also handmade, as much as the light tubes. It has a yellowish hue, what provides a mysterious and intense brightness to them. Considering all those notable details, the price of each piece, due to its low production, doesn't go unnoticed. And it couldn't be like that, as it varies between 3,800 and 15,000 dollars.
Frank BuchWald asseverates this job took him to another conception inside of modern technology, and the way he has been working with light manipulation among quotidian life along the years. So, he believes he can't considerate this project as a mere personal job, as he thinks he creates beings with their own life.
That's the way he transforms each sample into an exclusive work. Although the prices are not much accessible, they are, with no doubts, pieces that transcend a trivial concept of being just luminaries, becoming something rare inside any ambiance.
