Born and raised in Winsconsin, her idea of producing cheese sculptures happened just like this... She was used to be surrounded by cheese factories, pastures full of dairy cows and orange triangular hats of the inhabitants of her city. So, the chosen material was perfect for that.

Sarah worked at the local industry for many years, after she concluded her Madison Commercial Art course. It was precisely by that time that she discovered her natural talent to manage cheese. She improved it and had lots of stimulus for make her first sculpture in 1981. Used at the local commerce and to make publicity for consumers, this first piece was the starting point of a specific project to work with this activity.

When she moved to Cincinnati (Ohio), she was part of the "Jungle Jim's Internacional Market", a nationally recognized company at the feeding market as a creative service manager. On a parallel way, she kept on making her sculptures, in order to build up a full-time carrier.
